I Miss My Roomba Robotic Vacuum!

If you have been reading my previous Roomba reviews you already know that I was completely devastated by the "sudden death" of my new robotic vacuum cleaner. Why? Because while it was working - it was by far the most awesome invention I had ever purchased! I absolutely love it. My Roomba Scheduler stopped charging about a month after I bought it. With the help of an iRobot customer service representative - I tried resetting the battery and various other repairs but to no avail. There would be no Roomba repairs made by me - the unit would simply have to be replaced. UPS arrived on 9/21/05 (promptly two days after I spoke to iRobot's Customer Service) to pick up my defective Roomba just as the Customer Service Rep told me they would.

By day five without my Roomba vacuum cleaner I am really losing it! I had no idea how much I would miss it. I realized very quickly that I absolutely loved having my floors automatically vacuumed every day - who wouldn't? As I've stated before - there is something about having a clean house that "allows" me to relax. And having a clean carpet ranks right up there with getting flowers (ok, sometimes!) in my book! So, using iRobot's "online form" I emailed them and told them I missed my Roomba desperately and wanted to know when I could expect a replacement. And that is when the long journey home began for my Scheduler.

I try very hard not to be a pessimist! But over the years dealing with various customer service departments and managing a major customer service department (in my previous corporate life) I have learned the hard way that Murphy's Law usually prevails. Why? Because even with a robo vac -- the "human being" factor still gets in the way!
