Roomba Goes Back To iRobotRoomba® Blowout Sale!
The iRobot representative I spoke with told me to put the following items in the original box with the Styrofoam (Roomba robot shell, home base, and charger). She gave me a special return RMA number and told me to make sure I included it on the outside of the box along with my name and address. UPS arrived on 9/21/05 (promptly two days after I spoke to Customer Service) to pick up my Roomba just as the Customer Service Rep told me they would. I was still not comfortable with what the iRobot's Rep told me to keep. I felt it was an odd request that I was to basically strip my robot bare and keep all the filters, brushes, virtual walls, etc. I asked her at least three times to clarify again exactly what she wanted me to send and keep. If you have been reading my reviews from the beginning you will remember that I am not the most technologically savvy person so I had a difficult time understanding the difference between what the actual parts themselves were (ie; scheduler, charging brick vs: battery, etc.). At the end of our conversation, I was under the impression that I was going to get a brand new Roomba Scheduler - the ENTIRE kit in the box just like I received originally which would include everything. This would mean I would have the "extras" I kept as well. Like I said - I thought this was odd - so I included a note in the box explaining why everything was not there just to be safe. The last thing I wanted was a problem getting my Roomba replaced because they didn't receive all of it back for an even exchange. How long will it take for my replacement robot vac?My biggest concern was how long I would be without my new automatic cleaning robot buddy. The rep quelled my fears with the following statement: "Don't worry ma'am, just as soon as the factory receives your package - they will release your new Roomba Scheduler". I was thrilled! Everyone knows that UPS is quick - the factory would surely release my new vacuum in three or four days max. Or so I thought... More on the story! - Hello? IRobot? :: iRobot Customer Service -
