Wow! Considering how I only ordered my Roomba Scheduler on 8/9/05 I am very impressed that it only took 4 days to get it! Pretty impressive considering the shipping was free. I figured because they were paying shipping charges for this promotion, it would arrive via snail mail or pony express. Definitely not the case as it was delivered literally to my doorstep via UPS ground.

Again, I'm impressed with the iRobot company. And I'm not easily impressed with a merchant. My new Roomba Scheduler came extremely well packaged and protected with layers of Styrofoam where each little gizmo fits in it's own compartment. We're not talking about just some old box with a vacuum cleaner in it - but a real presentation that makes you feel like you really purchased a state of the art product.

The "presentation" of the Roomba system was also very appealing. When you open the box, there are three cool looking little black booklets - or romance cards - (for those of us who know what those are) and each booklet is also in its own little compartment. The packaging was very state of the art, very mysterious and a just a little bit intriguing. My hat is off to their marketing folks! The way they layed it out you want to read the three booklets and more importantly read them in order. The three booklets have a picture of the Scheduler and state simply on their covers:

Well, who wouldn't read them? I eagerly opened the Welcome booklet and started on my journey into the wonderful world of robotics. I read; "Congratulations and welcome to the new world if iRobot. With the purchase of your Roomba Robotic Floorvac you have joined the growing group of people around the globe who have discovered the smarter way to clean." Cool! And now for the real test. Can a woman who is "technologically challenged" actually figure out how to make the thing work?
