When we first decided to do a Roomba review site - one of the stipulations my husband and I agreed upon was that in order for our reviews to be completely unbiased and truthful - we needed someone to go through the entire process. Meaning, one of us would be responsible for everything from ordering the Roomba online to setting it up and making sure it worked properly. I had my assignment and I was ready for the challenge. If my mission was successful - I would have the cleaning help I always wanted. And Robotic vacuuming was even better - no personalities to deal with and no one to pay. It sounds almost too good to be true. And so I proceeded to order my new Roomba Scheduler.

What a great website iRobot has. Easy to use, easy to navigate through -- fast check out process. I absolutely love the pictures of the products -- their graphics are awesome. No squinting to see what you are ordering - I know exactly what I'm getting. The new Scheduler is a lovely blue/grey color combination and who doesn't love blue? I'm not talking about royal blue or an ugly neon color, just a nice slate blue - exactly the color I would have chosen if there was a choice of color. Roombas do come in different colors (like the Roomba Red, Pink, etc.) but the colors differentiate between the different models. Seconds after placing my order on 8/9/05 I got an email confirmation.

How will my animals react to a robotic vacuum?

On 8/10/05 iRobot sent me another confirmation email - this one saying my new Roomba Scheduler Model 4230 has been shipped! I can hardly wait to try it out. I worry about how my animals will react to it? We have 2 cats and 2 dogs. The cats are elderly -- ages 15 and 13 -- hopefully it won't freak them out too much.

We have 2 dogs as well (miniature long haired dachshunds). Hanna is 4 years old and the other is a fearless puppy 4 months old named Kasey. The older dog is the one I am most concerned about. Hanna is "very sensitive" as I like to call it -- my husband on the other hand says that Hanna is "very spoiled". Either way, she is our baby and we love her dearly. I don't want this new robot vacuum to traumatize her in any way. The puppy will be fine with our new robotic vacuum cleaner I am sure. She is absolutely fearless and nothing seems to bother her. I predict she will treat it as more like a new toy than the enemy. We shall see!
