Roomba vs: My Mother-In-LawNew Roomba Model 610 *SALE*
Hard to believe it's been 4 months since my last Roomba Review when I shared the details of the demise of my original Roomba Scheduler and my saga to get it replaced. Thanks to the help I received from Adam in the iRobot Customer Care department - I am happy to report the replacement robot is working fabulously. Since my sister-in-law (Debbie) and I both purchased our little house cleaning helpers, we have both been singing the praises of how well it works and how much time it saves us both. Ironically we have both been dealing with some pretty severe health issues in our households and our robotic vacuums have truly been a blessing for both of us. They say the best form of advertisement is word of mouth - so why wouldn't my mother-in-law want to join in on the fun? But Mom, are you sure?I must admit I was a bit hesitant when my beloved mother-in-law (Anne) came to me with credit card in hand and told me she wanted to buy a Roomba Scheduler for herself. Don't get me wrong, she is a very intelligent woman - just not the best at handling anything mechanical or electronic. When I reminded her of this she just smiled and me lovingly and said "Well, I figured if you could figure it out - so could I". Boy does she know me or what? In my earlier review "Is Roomba Easy to Use?" I confessed to the world just how technologically challenged I was. "I consider myself to be extremely "technologically challenged". My husband will wholeheartedly agree with that statement. Let me explain. When my husband and I met in 1990, I was still using an old 8 Track Stereo system - and quite happy with it I might ad! He bought me a CD player that first Christmas we were together, so I skipped the "cassette era" entirely. I have never been able to program our VCR - or any VCR for that matter, AND I struggle using our DVD player. I think you get the picture here." And so on 2/20/06 I helped her place an online order for a new Roomba Scheduler. After all she was absolutely right - if someone like me could master the Roomba vac - anybody could. Even a sweet woman in her 70's…right? Stay tuned. More on the story! - Is There a Roomba Generation Gap? - Back to Index
